Hong Kong Pools – The World’s Highest Pool

Hong Kong is known for its shopping and dim sum, but the city also features some remarkable pools – from the world’s highest pool to natural infinity pools on mountain sides – sure to impress.

On April 1st, Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will relaunch 46 swimming pools throughout Hong Kong: 9 on Hong Kong Island, 13 in Kowloon, and 24 in the New Territories. Residents aged 60 years or over can gain entry at half price; monthly passes are also available for HK$150.

To ensure public swimming pools remain safe and sanitary, the LCSD has issued an advisory on the appropriate use of pool facilities, providing tips to swimmers on keeping themselves clean when entering a pool deck area. For instance, this advice advises them to wear their shoes in changing rooms prior to showering/taking a bath/shower prior to entering pool deck areas, and to not use their personal belongings as storage locations on these deck areas.

Additionally, the LCSD has advised swimmers to keep their feet free from sand and pebbles to prevent foot infections. Furthermore, swimmers should ensure their hair remains dry at all times and always wear a swim cap to reduce chlorine inhalation that could potentially cause breathing difficulties for some individuals.
