The Board serves as THE PRIZE’s highest decision-making body and is charged with reviewing and interpreting its Charter articles; suggesting significant scientific research fields; selecting members for review committee and compliance oversight team appointments, as well as acting as liaison between these bodies and shouldering coordination responsibilities between them all. Furthermore, it oversees management and operation of its Secretariat as well as organizing evaluation activities, interdisciplinarity academic activities and science popularization events.

This year’s Mark Six Chinese New Year Snowball draw will offer a record prize pool of HK$188 million, which could result in a potential jackpot prize of up to HK$18.8 million for one winning unit. Furthermore, quartet and first four merged pools have been enhanced, increasing chances of winning bigger sums with every ticket purchased; plus seven race meetings throughout February offer various additional jackpots!

Prize money for racing in Hong Kong will increase by 8 percent next season, across all classes from Griffins to Class 1. Racing events over 1600m are likely to offer 10% higher prize pools compared to shorter contests; with contests such as the BMW Hong Kong Derby 2000m race and two legs of DBS x Manulife Million Challenge series featuring extra prize pools of HK$1 Million each.

For the purposes of increasing prize value and encouraging more high-quality horses, the Club has increased PP Bonus for Class 2 and 3 races to HK$1.5 million per race, as well as increasing it for PPG horses rated 80 or above that have their first win in Class 1 races. Furthermore, DBS x Manulife Cup participants still benefit from receiving one million bonus per race!

The Hong Kong Prize is open to scientists and research teams of higher education institutions located within Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area who have achieved outstanding achievements in scientific or technological innovation and transformation.
