A Hongkong Prize is an incredible way to recognize people who are making an impactful difference in the world, such as using technology to assist homeless individuals or creating fine art that interprets human rights concepts. Receiving such an award helps the recipients continue their good works and inspires others to do the same.
Lui Che-woo established the Hongkong Prize to recognize those who advance world civilisation and inspire others to build peaceful societies. Its logo depicts two precious elements – a pearl and jade amulet – symbolizing humanity’s spirit of harmony. Since its establishment, this prize has received tremendous global support, becoming an international platform for outstanding achievements.
Applicants who win the Hongkong Prize will receive both a significant financial award and access to Hong Kong’s premier research facilities. Furthermore, winners have the opportunity to travel around Hong Kong, meet other scientists, and gain greater exposure for their work. It is widely considered one of the most prestigious awards in Asia; each year thousands apply.
Researchers who want to be eligible for the Hongkong Prize must publish scientific articles that have a significant social impact, such as clinical studies (prospective or retrospective clinical trials), observational/epidemiological studies or meta-analyses. Furthermore, each piece must be original rather than being a review or letter to editor; furthermore it must appear in an accredited journal.
The Hongkong Prize is open to people from Southeast Asia, mainland China and around the world. Anyone interested can visit the World of Winners splash page starting March 1 to enter. Winners will be chosen in three waves – first Southeast Asian residents, then mainland Chinese citizens and then people from around the world! In addition to receiving a monetary prize and flight tickets to Hong Kong!
Are You Eligible for the Hongkong Prize? Applications should be submitted no later than March 15 by visiting the World of Winners splash page and entering their name. Winners will be notified shortly afterwards; in addition to receiving their monetary prizes, finalists will also be offered flights to Hong Kong so they can experience its vibrant culture and spectacular landscape, networking with scientists from all around the world, as well as receiving their flights!
