Hk Prize is an international science and technology innovation award sponsored by Bank of China (BOCHK) and administered by Hong Kong Alliance of Technology and Innovation (HKAI). The Board serves as the highest decision-making body of BOCHK SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION PRIZE; reviewing its charter; suggesting important scientific research fields; selecting members of its Review Committee, Compliance Oversight Team and Secretariat as well as setting requirements for nominating experts. Furthermore, The Board chairs final judging panels for both company- and product-based categories to ensure consistent judging standards are applied.
At this year’s awards, legal drama A Guilty Conscience for actor Tony Leung Chiu-wai took top honours, with crime thriller The Goldfinger taking home six prizes overall. Additionally, music, editing and action choreography received awards at this prestigious event; additionally in the Life Sciences and Medicine category Thein Swee Lay and Stuart Orkin were recognized for discovering that gene editing could reactivate fetal haemoglobin production among sickle cell patients using gene editing technology, potentially helping them avoid blood transfusions altogether.
Hong Kong students can display their artistic abilities by entering this contest, which runs until September 16th. Nominations from teachers can help those interested enter their works for consideration; finalists could win cash awards with the winning school receiving HK$10,000!
Organised by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Organizations, this competition is open to all secondary school students enrolled in Hong Kong. Participants may submit their artworks online before the submission deadline; then a panel of judges will select 20 student artists as shortliste candidates; an overall winner will be selected and awarded with an HK$8,000 judges prize as their reward for outstanding artwork submissions.
